Artists' Cafe - Social Media and Marketing for Artists
June 06, 2019 @ 10:30 AM
Market Street, Trowbridge, BA14 8EQ
Join our monthly Creative Cafe for artists. For our June session Iona Rowland will be giving sharing tips on social media and marketing for artists.
Through a dynamic presentation and both individual and group exercises, Iona Rowland will help attendees understand how to create a sustainable income from their creative practice, how to forecast, and how best to balance studio time with administration and marketing. She will explore new ways of reaching and engaging with collectors, commissioners and collaborators and how to identify new work opportunities in every day life. Artists will leave ready to expand and develop their practice, both creatively and commercially.
Iona Rowland studied Fine Art at Kingston University from 2010-2013, before attending Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York in 2015. Since graduating, she has exhibited widely across the UK in both solo and group shows. Key exhibitions include Indelible Traces at Nolias Gallery, London; MMNTM at Bohunk Institute, Nottingham; Regram at Slate London; A Futuristic Woman at Square Gallery, London; T2 Shoreditch, London; ING Discerning Eye 2017; Derwent Art Prize 2018; and group shows at GX Gallery in Camberwell, London. Creating artwork for the public realm continues to be at the core of her practice - this year, the artist has delivered major commissions for ShaftesburyPLC, Boom Cycle, and Derby County Football Club (in collaboration with Umbro). Her large scale paintings have been the subject of several feature films including Inspiring People by Beyond Time TV; and The Revival, a Mike Rymer film featuring Solomon O.B and sponsored by Weekend Offender. In 2019 filmmaker Phil Cooper will release a documentary film around the artist’s monumental commission Starry Starry Night. Iona Rowland’s work is held in private collections across the world.
Following the presentation Iona will be providing both a group and individual 20 minute sessions providing guidance tailored to your own practice. Individual sessions are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
