People's Projects Results
It’s with great sadness that I’m writing to say we were unsuccessful in the public vote for the People’s Projects. We were alongside four fantastic charities, all of whom were equally deserving of funding but, of course, we wished we’d had the funds to make the substantial changes to the building to make it more inviting, practical and accessible.
However, we’ll bounce back. The National Lottery will give us £5,000 and we’ll put this towards improvements to the foyer. Receiving ideas from the public has been eye-opening and we’ve a number of exciting plans afoot to transform Trowbridge Town Hall. We’ll continue to seek funds to undertake this work, working closely with our landlords Wiltshire Council to realise a vision that is both sympathetic to the building and versatile for multiple uses.
On a personal note, I’m three weeks into my role as Director here at the Town Hall and I couldn’t have wished for a more positive spirit of shared endeavour than has been seen through the public voting period. From staff and trustees to regular visitors and strangers, resident artists to regional collaborators and even funders, every conversation I have had as been full of possibility and potential.
I’m grateful for every conversation, every e-mail, every welcome. Please, keep the ideas coming. This is your building, and we’ll only realise its full potential with your continued support and encouragement.
