This compilation of films from 1902 to 1989 celebrate the contributions made by the South Asian diaspora to the United Kingdom. This compelling collection illustrates how the relationship between Britain and the region was made inextricable by Empire; its dissolution, and often painful legacy, and ultimately, how people originally from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh has enriched life in the UK.
We are celebrating the achievements of South Asians in Britain anticipating the ‘World Hello Day’ which recognize each year the importance of simple communication in our daily lives. This is a day to greet people and remember peace can be reached through communication.
