Los Angeles singer-songwriter Pi Jacobs plays what she calls an “Americana bluesy rock thing,” one nonetheless edged by accents evoking her urban San Francisco childhood. In addition to her smoldering vocals and intricate guitar playing, Jacobs plays a home-made percussion stomp box, driving her “one-woman band” show to the next level of high-energy, dynamic fun.

Enamored of her mother’s folk- and soul-heavy music collection, she sang throughout school, picking up guitar, bass and songwriting as a teenager. She earned her GED and left high school early, then pursued music studies at the local junior college. A period of woodshedding, gigging and recording ensued, culminating in the release of Pi’s debut album. She spent two years in New York before landing in L.A., which has proven fertile creative ground and a convenient base for touring.

“A true musician is one whose acoustic music is as good as their full band.  In Jacobs’ case, it is definitely true.  Her pure voice comes shining through with the simple acoustic background, revealing an artist that truly has something to say. “ - LA Music Critic April 2017

Support comes from EVES - a project which envelops sweet and simple acoustic ideas and experiments with more intricate and layered tracks - using a loop pedal, vocal harmonies and percussive guitar. During this set, a variety of originals and covers will be tied together with tracks on the loop station. From start to finish there will be a distinct movement from mellow tracks to more up-beat grooves.
