SEND Theatre Company
July 10, 2018 @ 3:00 PM
Each session will be a mix of drama exercise and games exploring emotions, teamwork, character and storytelling. Sensory equipment and music will be an integral part of the club. This term the group will focus on Shakespeare and work towards creating a sensory version of A Midsummer Nights Dream.
I am a professionally trained actor and workshop facilitator. As a graduate of the East 15 BA World Performance Course I have a range of skills including world music, devising and physical theatre.
Since graduating I have worked with a number of theatre companies including; Taking Flight Theatre Company, Tell Tale Heart Theatre Company and Butterfly Psyche Theatre. This has included two tours of “Wave” an interactive sensory piece of theatre aimed at young adults with PMLD. I have also advised a number of theatre companies on creating “relaxed” performances, suitable for autistic people and people with learning disabilities.
As a workshop facilitator, I have worked with a number of different groups, with a specialism in SEND young people. I have created and run a Youth Theatre at Larkrise School and run a series of workshops at St Nicholas’ School for specific projects. I am also the SEND specialist for Prime Theatre. As a wheelchair user with an autistic brother, Phoebe is very passionate about making the arts inclusive to everyone.
This is an 8 week course running from 15 May - 10 July.
