Town Hall Arts in Trowbridge
Freelance Book Keeper
Town Hall Arts – Trowbridge Arts
Town Hall Arts is in a new phase of the 4 years of development of Trowbridge Town Hall into a centre for arts, culture and heritage learning. We are thrilled to have been successful in attracting funding from Arts Council England, Wiltshire Council and Trowbridge Town Council to build on the delivery of Trowbridge Arts, its professional performance, visual and participation programme.
The work of Town Hall Arts includes hosting professional touring theatre and dance, exhibiting visual arts throughout the year, supporting the artists shop and artists’ café, running a number of performance, visual and literature based workshops, looking after the many people who hire space in the venue, as well as supporting activities out in the community and celebrating the amazing heritage of Town Hall Arts home, Trowbridge’s old Town Hall.
We are currently looking for a Book Keeper who will underpin the business of Town Hall Arts. Although there are systems in place from previous phases of Town Hall Arts development, this new phase brings with it the opportunity to develop new systems and ways of working. This will be the first time the organisation has employed staff so support in setting up payroll systems would be ideal. You will work alongside the Director Town Hall Arts and support regular reporting the voluntary Finance Director.
The role will be carried out flexibly, it is anticipated at between 1 and 2 days per week for 20 months (This corresponds to recent public funding award but the aim is that the business will grow over that time to sustain the position in the longer term). The total fee available is £13,333. You will need to undertake this role in a freelance capacity and carry relevant insurances.
If you would like to join our small team and you think you can help us to fill Trowbridge with inspirational events please send your CV with an accompanying letter, setting out your reasons for applying for this post and drawing attention to particularly relevant experience and qualifications that match the person specification. Please include how you found out about this job. Two referees’ names should be included but references will only be taken up in the event of your being selected for the post.
Applications should be addressed to Philippa Edwards and emailed to: firstname.lastname@example.org
The closing date is Wednesday 17 Aug, 5pm. We expect to short-list candidates on Monday 22 August for interview on Friday 26th August.
