May 12, 2016 @ 7:00 PMView all dates for this event
We are Sian Midgley and Victoria Moore; two visual arts graduates who are passionate about finding time to develop simple and effective art skills to create exciting art work.
In a series of experimental workshops we will be exploring a range of techniques and material, using dyes, printmaking, textile art, decorative design and layers of colour.
Whether you are an absolute beginner, a student keen to broaden your skills or simply want to reawaken your creative side - do come and join us!
Summer Term: Thursdays 12th May - 16 Jun (half term 2 Jun)
During the 5 sessions we will explore the process of flour paste resist. We will provide a range of source materials for you to draw inspiration from and create a number of designs. If you already have ideas for a design; that's great, bring your ideas with you!
Each week will see you add a layer of fabric dye to your material and another layer of flour paste gradually adding depth and detail to your design. We will experiment with mark making, colour, types of material.
On finishing the sessions you will have at least 2 finished designs.
We will be offering the opportunity to try out and develop fabric printing ideas and techniques alongside your flour paste designs.
Please bring an apron; we look forward to seeing you!
