This is a relaxed performance
Relaxed performances are specifically aimed to appeal to families with children who are on the autistic spectrum or have sensory sensitivities as well as those with other access needs.
There will be a meet and greet with the actors and puppets at 1.30pm, and a show guide to accompany the show. This performance is specially adapted to be suitable for audience members with special educational needs and Autism as well as being engaging for all, but is designed to be an inclusive theatrical experience for the whole community.
We are delighted to be bringing this 'relaxed performance' of 'The Little Match Girl' to Trowbridge Town Hall. There will be a story guide for the show as well as adaptations to present an accessible version of our production.
This is a joyful retelling of a Winter classic: A magical and mischievous twist on this well-known tale, complete with puppetry, Christmas carols, and audience interaction.
It is Christmas Eve, snow litters the ground and the little girl is alone. She is desperate to get warm so she lights the matches that she has been selling.
With the lighting of each match the little match girl is transported by its warmth into the scenes behind the glass. She becomes a part of the festivities, meeting Father Christmas, playing in the snow and eating the most delicious feast but as the match goes out they fade and are just beyond reach.
Using their unique combination of visual storytelling, live music and object work, Moon On A Stick transform the stage into a stunning snowy spectacle. This beautiful, playful production is a perfect Christmas show for a younger audience.
