Deep in the forest, faeries wait...

Four star-crossed lovers wander the woods searching for answers, a group of craftsmen rehearse a play... none of them can escape the turbulence of the faerie kingdom and the mischievous meddlings of the cheeky spirit known as Puck!

This new family adaptation of Shakespeare's enchanting story will transport you into a world of mirth and magic, where Shakespeare's language is made accessible to a younger audience through the use of puppetry, physical theatre and original music.

Setting the scene ... While Theseus, Duke of Athens, is preparing for his marriage to Hippolyta, Queen of The Amazons, there is a love triangle emerging around Hermia, Demetrius and Lysander.

Forced by her father to take Demetrius as her husband Hermia plans to elope with Lysander and as they journey into the woods to escape, they are followed by Demetrius, and his thwarted lover Helena.

Already in the woods is a group of craftsmen who are rehearsing a play they want to perform at Theseus’s wedding. Also lurking in the woods are a band of fairies – Oberon the Fairy King and his Queen Titania.

Things then get very muddled as the three groups meet. . .

New for 2015, the show was commissioned the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham.

Box Tale Soup's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream will premiere at Brighton Fringe in May, so watch this space for incoming reviews!
