Meet Light and Lark a New Theatre Company
A New Theatre Company Needs Your Help
We would like to introduce you to Natalie Remington and Aimee Holmes who have just launched a children's theatre company called Light & Lark.
Trowbridge Arts are very keen to support new theatre and so we are delighted that they will premiere their children's show Papillon an "uplifting story about life and death" at Trowbridge Town Hall in July 2015.
In the meantime they are raising funding using Kickstarter, so you could be involved in funding a theatre production for as little as £5.
Light & Lark are commited to making children's theatre accessible in terms of ticket prices and they also they want children to participate in making theatre. They will use the funding to bring free workshops to children to "help the children develop an enjoyable and educational relationship with arts that will continue through life".
More about the show - Papillon is a thoughtful butterfly who takes us on a journey to explore his environment. Join him as he watches night turn to day and meets a host of lively creatures along the way.
This is an energetic and visually expressive production whch uses music, physical theatre and integrated animation to enthrall and engage children aged three to six and their families.
The show gently raises issues of loss and berevement, in a way that is appropriate and accessible for young children. Light & Lark are in communication with various charities and with a child psychologist to produce an outreach programme, as well as a supporting education pack. The crowd funding campaign will pay for these elements as well as going towards materials and practitioners for their first devising week in early April.
